10th Annual Puerto Vallarta Chili Cook-Off, February 19th
A family-friendly event, the Chili Cook-Off has been held annually in Puerto Vallarta, México for the past 10 years. It is hosted by the non-profit organization, The Jay Sadler Project A.C., with all proceeds going to help fund the non-profit and their work in the under-served communities of the greater Bay of Banderas area.
The Cook-Off features all-day entertainment from local bands as well as many food and beverage vendors. In addition, some 25 restaurants, bars, and individuals bring their chili for judging in both the popular (attendees) and professional categories.
The PV Chili Cook-Off Committee decided to move the 2022 event to Puerto Magico, where our host, Dean Regehr, is determined to eliminate as much of the costly overhead as possible ensuring more revenue for the Jay Sadler Project A.C. to inject into the community over the following year.
As the world starts to get back to normal we’ve felt a huge wave of enthusiasm for the next Chili Cook-Off, specifically in the recent surge of online ticketing. The biggest change that the new facility allows will be over 300 hundred seats in the shade that you may reserve during the ticket purchasing process. There will also be an adjacent multi-level parking structure if you want to drive to the event.
Along with chili, there will be several other types of food available, including but not limited to seafood, tacos, ice cream, and cupcakes from various local vendors and restaurants. We’re excited about the music, which is always a treat in Puerto Vallarta, where we have some incredibly talented musicians and entertainers.

These General Admission tickets are $270, which is $50 less than you will pay at the gate on the day of the event. Plus you’ll get in 30 minutes earlier with less waiting in line. All good reasons to get your tickets now.
Colonnade Tickets Still Available Online
Judging by the advanced ticket sales we’re looking at a fantastic turnout for the 10th annual Puerto Vallarta Chili-Cook-Off. Even though the Gold and VIP Premium Packages have already Sold Out, you may still reserve your spot in the shade in the Colonnade.
Once you are in our Ticket Gateway, scroll down a bit and click on The Colonnade, and then at the bottom of that page, you’ll see a “Buy Now” button. Clicking on this will open a seating plan where you may choose from the seats still available.
All proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off will go to The Jay Sadler Project, a Jalisco based non-profit doing good works in the less-fortunate communities of the greater Bay of Banderas area. They provide necessary resources to improve various institutions in the Banderas Bay area and Puerto Vallarta. These include Day Care Centers, Senior Citizens Homes, and Schools for the Disabled, Public Schools in rural areas and other private charitable institutions. They also provide building maintenance, repairs and install playgrounds in the community. JSP works with government social agencies to identify those in need as well as with DIF and Navy League of Vallarta on Community Relations Projects.
