Passenger Numbers Continue to Increase at Puerto Vallarta Airport
The Puerto Vallarta International Airport continued its great start to the year in February with an almost 32% increase in the number of passengers compared to the same month of 2022. According to preliminary data from GAP, in the month of February 2023, the 12 Mexican airports registered an increase in total passenger traffic of 21.8%, compared to the same month of 2022. The airports of Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, and Tijuana presented growth of 31.9%, 26.0%, 24.5%, and 12.5%, respectively, compared to February 2022.
The Vallarta airport captured 614,600 passengers, while in the same month of 2022, there were 466,000, a difference compared to last year of 31.9%. In this way, it added 1,301,700 passengers in the first two months of the year, 39.2 percent more than the same period last year.
In February, 183,500 passengers arrived on domestic flights to Puerto Vallarta, 26.8 percent more than the same month in 2022, when there were 144,800, that is, the increase was less than in the first month of the year. However, after two months there are 409,600 passengers, 33.5% more than last year.
In addition, 431,100 passengers were captured on international flights, 34.2 percent more than in February 2022, when there were 321,300. In the first two months of 2023, it accumulated 892,100 passengers, 42 percent more than the previous year, and surpassed passenger arrivals at the Los Cabos and Guadalajara airports.
