Puerto Vallarta to Host SingularityU Mexico Summit

Puerto Vallarta will host the 2019 SingularityU Mexico Summit in Jalisco November, 6 & 7. Produced by Singularity University, a Silicon Valley-based institution of higher learning, the Summit – now in its third edition – is considered one of the most important technology and innovation events in Latin America.

The SingularityU Mexico Summit in Jalisco 2019 will bring together the world’s brightest minds and assist the entrepreneurial-minded in understanding the future, technology, and opportunities to face present challenges and grow their businesses.

Summit director Vivian Lan Agami announced a lineup of outstanding confirmed speakers, including Taddy Blecher, CEO of the Maharishi Institute and the Imvula Empowerment Trust, to speak about the “future of education”; Jamie Metzel, an expert in futuristic and geopolitical technology and leading member of the Atlantic Council, who will discuss “genetic engineering and the future of humanity”; Samantha Rodocchia, an entrepreneur and defender of emerging technology, who will speak of “the future of logistics and supply chains”; and Jody Medich, a Virtual and Augmented reality designer who will speak about augmented virtual reality and how to “create superhumans, not supercomputers.”

Venture capitalist Leticia Jáuregui, one of the Mexican speakers participating in the Summit, will lead a session entitled “Faced with uncertainty: technology and innovation.” She will stress that moments of uncertainty are breeding grounds for innovation and business creation. “In difficult times, companies must find new ways to survive and prosper, so they are forced to try new products that they would not have launched at another time and must be creative to use their financing more efficiently,” said Jáuregui.

Carlos Velázquez Santillanes, General Coordinator of the Secretary of Innovation, Science and Technology of the State of Jalisco, noted that the state’s alliance with the Summit is “strategic … due to us having a consolidated ecosystem in the areas of innovation, technology, and creativity. It is important that, through these events, the use of exponential technologies is encouraged, as many companies use them to provide effective solutions to the main problems affecting the development of humanity.”
